S.U.N. ENGINEERING, INC. was established in 1978 to offer the pipeline industry a new and remarkably innovative product – a durable, lightweight, all urethane pig. The results not only achieved this objective but offered secondary benefits and economies such as replaceable parts, interchangeable components, cups, posts, brushes, blades, and an incredible wear ability over competitive products and materials. The innovations do not stop there. Today, S.U.N. Engineering’s SUPER PIG, SUPER CAST, OPTIMA CAST, SUPER SPHERE, and MAGNA-SYGG detector - onshore or offshore - are industry leaders the world over in mileage, performance, quality, and design simplicity. In today’s budget and personnel sensitive workplace, S.U.N. Engineering’s Super Products offer undeniable economic benefits to the user.
Throughout
S.U.N. Engineering’s history as an innovator in the pipeline pigging industry,
we have had many industry firsts:
· First all urethane flexible body pig with replaceable parts.
· First to manufacture pipeline pigs using MDI urethane that, in combination with our cup designs, lasts at least 30% longer than the conventional urethane cups.
· First to manufacture a multi-size cup that successfully runs in pipelines with line variances greater than two line sizes.
· First to design a retainer system for metal body pigs that eliminates the large number of bolts typically required to mount cups to the pig body; reducing the time it takes to redress a metal body pig. Our metal body pig has a retainer system that requires one bolt and one stainless steel strap at each end to mount the cups.

First to offer a non-intrusive pig-signaling device.

The Products
S.U.N. Engineering, Inc. innovative products consist of:
SUPER PIG - the first all-urethane pipeline pig with replaceable parts.
SUPER CAST PIG – a one-piece, multi-cup pipeline pig.
OPTIMA CAST PIG – a one-piece, multi-cup pipeline pig with flexible configuration that can include any combination of standard cups, discs, or multi-size cups.
SUPER SPHERE – a one-piece, seamless pipeline sphere.
MAGNA-SYGG – a non-intrusive pipeline pig detector.
CABLE PROTECTOR CLAMPS – cross coupling cable protectors for electronic submersible pumps (ESP).
ESP AND ROD PUMPS – NEMA electric submersible pumps for relatively shallow, low temperature oilwells.
CUSTOM URETHANE – we manufacture custom urethane parts using our high quality MDI urethane for other companies in the pipeline pigging industry and specialty parts for companies in a variety of industries.
S.U.N. Engineering, Inc., through what we call our SUPER SERVICE,, offers design and technical assistance for just about any application you might have, onshore or offshore. Through our sister company, L & M Pattern Mfg. Co., Inc., we can design and build tooling for custom urethane products.
